I am also a proud mother of two boys. Through my teaching, I am guided by Reggio Emilia and Curiosity Approach. I enjoy building relationships with children and their whanau. I have been involved in the Childcare industry since 2003, when my youngest daughter who was then 3 years old, came to work with me at my Centre in New Lynn.
Now, my eldest daughter comes to work with me - but in her own right, as she is a qualified registered teacher, and her daughters come along also – it’s a real family affair.
I believe in the environment being the third teacher. My greatest passion within childcare has been to provide a wonderful environment for the children to learn and grow in which changes and evolves with the children.

I truly enjoy my work and take great pride and pleasure in what I do. I see myself as a friendly, caring individual, a hard worker and someone who will go the extra mile. I am an easy-going person with a sense of humour, however I can be serious as I strive to be the best I can be. I have a passion working with children, extending their learning and see how they thrive in their environment. Children need to feel safe and secured in their learning environment, they need to be seen and heard and I am excited to experience new things with them.

It's a privelege being involved with nurturing your children. I believe that, as far as possible, we should create a home-like environment where your tamariki can learn and thrive. They all differ from each other and I find this fascinating. My daily challenge is to treat each of your children as an individual, interacting with them on their level and, at the same time, guiding them.
I'm interested to know how you feel and what you consider to be your priorities. A quick chat whenever you drop your children off or collect them is an awesome way of keeping open lines of communication and this is one of my priorities. Here's to happy children.

I have been working in the early childhood sector for over 15 years, in a range of roles including teacher, team leader and Centre Manager. I have chosen to return to a teaching position as I complete post graduate study, specialising in Early Intervention. Whanaungatanga/relationships with children and parents/whānau are at the heart of my practice. I believe that meaningful relationships are crucial to children’s learning, as these relationships enable children to feel safe, respected and valued, enabling them to learn and develop to their full potential. I look forward to getting to know the children and families here at Coast Kids on Karepiro, and am very excited to be a part of their learning journeys.

I closely align with the RIE philosophy and practice this each day in the Pipi room, believing in each child’s unique learning journey, individual development and capability. I see the environment as a third teacher providing younger children the ability and strive to explore, learn and develop. I enjoy building strong foundations with the Tamariki and whanau to support and creative life long learning and watch the babies grow into strong, competent and happy members in our learning community. Kia pai tō rā.

Hello, I have been a Teacher here since October 2019. I enjoy observing your children, and offering them experiences and activities to extend their interests. Watching them reach milestones and progress along their learning journey I find exciting. I love being a part of their early years - as they learn and grow. Outside of the centre, I love to play football. I have a young daughter who attends the Centre with me, and enjoys her days here as much as i do ka kite koe i a koe.
